📖 About the university
Tianjin University of Media and Arts is a private media-and-arts university in Tianjin, a major municipality and port city on the Bohai Gulf next to Beijing. Its predecessor, the College of Sports and Culture Arts under Tianjin University of Sport, was established in 2004 in the scenic Jizhou district near Mount Pan, and in February 2021 the Ministry of Education approved its separation from the parent university and conversion into an independent private undergraduate university under its present name. The university is oriented mainly toward training talent in media and the arts and offers around twenty-four undergraduate programmes across five disciplinary areas: arts, literature, management, education and engineering. It is organised into schools covering music, dance, broadcasting and hosting, film and television, art and design and media management, and has been developing a new campus in the Xiqing district. Its core strengths lie in media and the performing arts, broadcasting and hosting, music, dance and film and television. It suits students pursuing careers in media, performance and the creative arts near the capital region.

🌆 About Tianjin
Tianjin is a major northern port municipality on the Bohai Gulf, historically Beijing's gateway to the sea and a former treaty port with rich colonial architecture. With a metropolitan population of around 14 million, it combines a busy modern port and financial district with atmospheric old European quarters. The climate is a temperate monsoon one, giving hot, humid summers and cold, dry, windy winters. Landmarks include the Tianjin Eye ferris wheel built on a bridge, the elegant Five Great Avenues, the Ancient Culture Street, and the mosaic-covered Porcelain House. Tianjin has a lively snack culture famed for Goubuli steamed buns, Shibajie fried dough twists, and guobacai. It runs a modern metro, Binhai International Airport, and sits just half an hour from Beijing by high-speed rail. For an international student, Tianjin offers big-city amenities and strong universities at lower cost than Beijing, with the capital right next door.
