📖 About the university

Sichuan Tourism University is the first full-time public general undergraduate institution in China to be named after 'tourism' and is located in the Longquanyi District of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. Its predecessor was the Sichuan Cuisine College, founded in 1985 under the Ministry of Commerce, and in 2013 the Ministry of Education officially approved the establishment of Sichuan Tourism University through the merger of the cuisine college and a local agricultural management cadre college. The university operates from its Longquan campus across roughly 1,000 mu and comprises schools of culinary science, tourism and cultural industry, hotel management, foreign languages and information and engineering. Building on its distinctive origins, it is especially renowned for culinary arts and nutrition, food science, tourism management and hotel management, and it is a key training base for Sichuan cuisine and hospitality talent. Located in one of China's great gastronomic cities, the university admits international students and provides Chinese-language study for learners in China.
