📖 About the university

Guangzhou College of Applied Science and Technology is a full-time private undergraduate university with a campus in the Zhucun area of the Zengcheng District of Guangzhou and a larger campus in the Dinghu District of Zhaoqing, both in Guangdong Province. Its history began in 2000, when Guangzhou University and the Zengcheng Songtian Industrial Company agreed to establish the Songtian College as a jointly run secondary college; it became an independent college with legal-person status in 2004 and, in 2020, was approved by the Ministry of Education to convert into an independently run private university under its present name. The university is comprehensive in scope, organised into schools such as economics and management, law, physical education, information engineering, foreign languages, and art and design, with the economics and management school alone offering programmes in finance, financial technology, international economics and trade, accounting, financial management, marketing, human resource management, and big-data management. Its orientation is applied and career-focused, aimed at supplying skilled graduates to the service, business and technology sectors of the Pearl River Delta. Operating across two cities, it gives students access both to the opportunities of Guangzhou and to the quieter, lower-cost environment of Zhaoqing.
