📖 About the university

Jimei University in Xiamen was founded on the legacy of the philanthropist Tan Kah Kee (Chen Jiageng), whose famous Jimei School Village dates to 1918 and remains a landmark of overseas-Chinese patriotism. It is one of China's oldest centers for maritime and fisheries education, with nationally strong programs in navigation, marine engineering, fisheries science and food engineering. The distinctive campus, blending Chinese and Western architecture along the seafront, is itself a major tourist attraction in Xiamen. Beyond its maritime core, the university covers finance, education, the sciences and the arts. It has a long tradition of educating overseas Chinese and welcomes international students today.
