📖 About the university

Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, founded in 1956, is another of China's four earliest TCM universities and the leading centre for Chinese medicine in the southwest. It is nationally renowned for Chinese pharmacy (Chinese materia medica), where it is consistently ranked at or near the top. The university preserves a vast collection of medicinal plants and specimens and researches the rich herbal traditions of the Sichuan basin and Tibetan plateau. Its affiliated hospitals are among the busiest TCM hospitals in the region. Many international students come to study acupuncture, herbal medicine and integrative care.
