Putian University is a public undergraduate institution in Putian, Fujian, established in 2002 through the merger of several local colleges. It offers a broad range of programs in engineering, medicine and nursing, business, education, and the arts. The university draws on the rich cultural heritage of the Mazu belief and the Xinghua region, and maintains ties with overseas Chinese communities from Putian.
