Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) is a public research university in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province in north-east China, founded in 1920. It is a member of the C9 League and is included in Project 985, Project 211, and the Double First-Class initiative, and it is one of the country's foremost engineering universities. HIT is closely associated with China's aerospace and defence sectors and is counted among the group of universities historically dedicated to national defence science and technology.
