📖 About the university

Taiyuan University is a public undergraduate university led by the Shanxi provincial government and managed by the Taiyuan municipal government. Its predecessor, Taiyuan University, was formed in 1984 by merging four local branch campuses, and in 2013 it was upgraded to a comprehensive undergraduate university under its current name. It became one of Shanxi's first applied-oriented undergraduate universities in 2022. The university carries out international cooperation with partners in the United States, Canada and Thailand.
