📖 About the university

Lanzhou Jiaotong University is a public university in the Gansu capital, founded in 1958 by transferring railway-engineering programs from Tangshan and Beijing to strengthen higher education in the northwest. It is one of China's important universities for railway and transportation engineering, especially the construction and operation of railways across difficult plateau, desert and high-altitude terrain. The university is strong in civil engineering, traffic engineering, automation and environmental engineering, and has contributed to major northwestern rail projects including the Qinghai–Tibet railway. Its campuses in Lanzhou enrol a large student body across engineering, science, economics and the arts. International students are welcomed for Chinese-language study and engineering degrees.
