📖 About the university
Guizhou Police College was founded in 1950 as the Guizhou Provincial People's Government Public Security Cadre School, and after passing through several renamings, including a period as the Guizhou Provincial Administrative Cadre School and later the Guizhou Provincial Public Security Cadre School, it split into two separate schools in 1980 before they were merged in 2000 to form the vocational-level Guizhou Police Officer Vocational College. In May 2017 the Ministry of Education approved its upgrade to full undergraduate status under its current name, Guizhou Police College, making it the only full-time political-science, law and public-security undergraduate institution in Guizhou province. Sponsored by the Guizhou provincial government and jointly overseen by the provincial public security and education departments, the college is based in Guiyang, the provincial capital, and offers fourteen undergraduate majors, including Public Order, Investigation, Counter-Narcotics Studies, Economic Crime Investigation, Public Security Management, Police Command and Tactics, Criminal Science and Technology, Traffic Management Engineering, Safety Protection Engineering, and Cybersecurity and Law Enforcement. Its relatively recent transition to full undergraduate status reflects the broader nationwide upgrading of provincial police training institutions over the past two decades. Guizhou Police College remains central to preparing law-enforcement personnel for one of southwestern China's most ethnically diverse and mountainous provinces.

🌆 About Guiyang
Guiyang is the capital of Guizhou province in southwestern China, set among karst mountains at an elevation that gives it one of the mildest year-round climates of any Chinese provincial capital, with cool summers and mild winters that have earned it the nickname Forest City and summer capital. The city is surrounded by dramatic karst scenery, including nearby attractions such as the Huangguoshu Waterfall and numerous limestone caves, and it blends a compact modern downtown with a rich mix of Han and ethnic minority cultures, including Miao and Dong communities in the wider province. In recent years Guiyang has become a major hub for big-data and cloud-computing industries, drawing significant investment and new technology parks, while its universities serve a province that is home to some of China's most spectacular and least-visited natural scenery. The city is known for its spicy Guizhou cuisine, particularly sour-and-spicy fish and rice-noodle dishes, and for its role as a gateway to the province's ethnic minority villages and natural sites. Guiyang has expanded rail and air links in recent years, including high-speed rail to Guangzhou, Chongqing and Kunming, improving its connectivity with the rest of China.
