📖 About the university

Yanshan University is a leading engineering-focused university in the seaside city of Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, with a heritage dating back to the Harbin Institute of Technology in 1920. Its mechanical engineering school grew out of China's heavy-machinery and metallurgical-equipment traditions and remains one of the strongest in the country. The university is jointly built by Hebei Province and several national ministries and is renowned for materials science, mechanical engineering and controllable-devices research. Its scenic campus lies close to the Bohai Sea beaches and the eastern end of the Great Wall at Shanhaiguan.
