📖 About the university

Guangdong University of Science and Technology is a full-time private undergraduate university located in Dongguan, a major manufacturing city at the centre of the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong Province, with campuses in the Nancheng District and the Songshan Lake High-Tech Industrial Development Zone. It was established in 2003, initially as the Dongguan Nanbo Specialised College, was upgraded to a vocational college in 2004, and in April 2011 was promoted by the Ministry of Education to an undergraduate institution under its present name. The university is engineering-led, with coordinated development across management, economics, literature and the arts, and comprises eleven secondary colleges including computer science, mechanical and electrical engineering, finance and economics, management, foreign languages, and art and design. It offers forty-seven undergraduate programmes and enrolls more than thirty-five thousand full-time students, with particular strengths in computer science and technology, mechanical and electronic engineering, finance and international trade. Its location amid the electronics and smart-manufacturing factories of Dongguan supports close industry ties and strongly employment-oriented, applied training.

Dongguan is a prefecture-level city in the central Pearl River Delta of Guangdong, positioned between Guangzhou and Shenzhen and famed as one of the world's great manufacturing centres.
