📖 About the university

Taizhou University is a full-time public undergraduate institution located in Taizhou, a state-level historical and cultural city in central Jiangsu Province. Its roots reach back to the Taixing Rural Normal School established in 1941 and the Subei Taizhou Normal School established in 1952, which merged in 2002 to form Taizhou Normal College of Higher Learning together with the local radio and television university. In April 2013 the college was upgraded to a full public undergraduate university with the approval of the Ministry of Education and named Taizhou University. The university operates the Jichuan and Taixing campuses covering roughly 700,000 square meters and offers undergraduate programs across the humanities, education, science, engineering, and business, with particular strengths in teacher education, Chinese language and literature, and music rooted in its long normal-school heritage. Located in the Yangtze River Delta, the university admits international students and provides Chinese-language study for learners in China.
