📖 About the university
Chongqing College of Mobile Communication is a private undergraduate institution with campuses in Hechuan and Qijiang districts of Chongqing. It was established in August 2000 as the College of Mobile Communications of the Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, an independent college of that well-known telecoms university, and carried its parent's name until 18 December 2020, when the Ministry of Education approved conversion into a free-standing private institution under the present name. The college is one of the more distinctive private schools in southwest China: it runs a residential college system in which students belong to small cross-disciplinary communities, operates a German Engineering School that it describes as the region's only cooperation of its kind with German universities, and in 2023 was placed first in the ABC ranking of Chinese private universities. Across roughly 2,358 mu on the two campuses it teaches about 39,000 students in 39 bachelor programmes centred on communication engineering, electrical engineering and automation, rail-transit signalling and control, big data and computer science, alongside business, digital economy, film and media and the arts. The motto pairs joyful teaching and learning with creation and enterprise. Teaching is in Chinese and the intake is domestic.

🌆 About Chongqing
Chongqing is a sprawling southwestern municipality built across steep hills where the Yangtze and Jialing rivers meet, giving it the nickname the mountain city. Its urban core holds around 16 million people, and its dramatic, multi-level terrain of bridges, tunnels, and cliffside buildings is unlike anywhere else in China. The climate is humid subtropical, with famously hot, humid summers and mild, often foggy winters. Landmarks include the glowing Hongya Cave stilt complex, the old Yangtze River cableway, Ciqikou ancient town, and the light-rail line that runs straight through a residential tower at Liziba. The city is the birthplace of fiery Chongqing hotpot, alongside spicy xiaomian noodles and laziji chicken. A distinctive metro and monorail system, Jiangbei International Airport, and high-speed rail connect its complex geography and the wider region. For an international student, Chongqing offers low living costs, dramatic scenery, and an intense, unforgettable urban experience.
