Huaiyin Institute of Technology, founded in 1958, is an application-oriented engineering university in the canal city of Huai'an in northern Jiangsu. Its strengths lie in mechanical engineering, transportation, civil engineering, chemical engineering and computer science, serving the developing economy of northern Jiangsu. It supplies practical engineers to the region. Its campus lies in the birthplace of Premier Zhou Enlai.
