📖 About the university

Xi'an International Studies University (XISU), founded in 1952, is one of the earliest four foreign-languages institutes established in the People's Republic and the only specialised foreign-studies university in northwest China. It teaches a wide array of languages together with translation, tourism, economics and international communication, drawing on Xi'an's Silk Road heritage as a bridge to the wider world. Its programmes serve the language and international-exchange needs of the entire northwest. The modern Chang'an campus lies in the university district south of the ancient city. XISU is a natural base for international students who wish to study Chinese in one of China's most historic cities.
