📖 About the university

Yantai Nanshan University is a full-time private undergraduate university located on University Road in the Donghai Tourism Resort of Longkou, a county-level city under Yantai in Shandong Province. Its roots go back to 1990-1991, when a vocational school was founded under the sponsorship of Nanshan Holdings, a large enterprise group active in aluminium, textiles, aviation and finance; the school grew through vocational and college stages before being approved as a full undergraduate university in 2005. Backed by its industrial parent, the university is strongly applied and engineering-oriented, organised into schools such as intelligent science and engineering, materials science and engineering, chemical engineering and technology, textile and garment, science and data, and economics and management. It is especially distinctive for its School of Aviation Science and Engineering, which trains pilots and aviation technicians and is closely linked to the Nanshan group's aviation businesses. With more than twenty thousand students on a large seaside campus, it offers career-focused education across engineering, management, economics, arts and health disciplines.

Longkou is a prosperous county-level city on the northern coast of the Shandong Peninsula, administered by Yantai and facing the Bohai Sea.
