The University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (UCASS) is a public research university in Beijing run directly by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China's top think-tank in the humanities and social sciences. It traces its roots to the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, founded in 1978, and was established as a full university in 2017. The university is a specialised, research-oriented institution focused on the liberal arts, with particular strength in economics, law, sociology, philosophy and political science. Its students benefit from close mentorship by researchers from the academy's many institutes and from a strong emphasis on training top-level academic talent.
