📖 About the university

China Fire and Rescue University traces its origins to a forestry armed-police training unit established in Heilongjiang province in September 1978, and after passing through several institutional reorganizations under the armed police forest police system, it was formally integrated in 2018 from the former Armed Police Force branch academy and the former Public Security Fire Force college into its current form. The university is directly affiliated with China's Ministry of Emergency Management and is located in Changping District, Beijing, on a campus covering more than 1,100 mu, or about 73 hectares. It offers eleven undergraduate majors spanning the disciplines of law and engineering, including Fire Command, Fire Engineering, Fire Investigation, Aerospace Engineering, Flight Vehicle Control and Information Engineering, Rescue Command and Technology, Communication Engineering, Emergency Equipment Technology and Engineering, and Nuclear-Biological-Chemical Firefighting, alongside political-education tracks for fire and rescue cadres. With a full-time enrollment of around 7,000 students, the university's core mission is to train junior commanders and technical specialists for China's national comprehensive fire and rescue teams, as well as to provide continuing education and in-service training for serving officers. As China's only dedicated national-level higher-education institution for fire and emergency rescue, it plays a central role in professionalizing the country's disaster-response and firefighting workforce.

🌆 About Beijing

Beijing is the capital of the People's Republic of China and its political, cultural and educational centre, home to imperial landmarks such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the Temple of Heaven and sections of the Great Wall in its surrounding mountains. The city has a monsoon-influenced continental climate with hot summers and cold, dry winters, and it combines a vast historic core of hutong alleyways with a modern skyline of business districts such as the CBD and Zhongguancun, China's leading technology hub. Beijing hosts more top-tier universities and research institutes than any other Chinese city, drawing students and scholars from across the country and around the world, and it is the seat of the central government, major state ministries and countless national cultural institutions such as the National Museum of China and the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Its cuisine is famous for Peking duck and old Beijing snacks, and the city offers rich cultural life through its museums, hutong neighbourhoods, and traditional teahouses alongside a cosmopolitan, fast modernizing urban environment. An extensive subway network, two major international airports, and China's densest high-speed rail connections make Beijing exceptionally well connected to the rest of the country and the world.
