📖 About the university

Guilin Tourism University is a public full-time undergraduate university in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and is one of the very few independent public universities in China devoted entirely to tourism. Its history dates to the Guilin Institute of Tourism founded in 1985 as a tourism junior college approved by the Guangxi regional government, and it was upgraded to a full undergraduate tourism university by the Ministry of Education in 2015. The university comprises a main campus in Yanshan District and a downtown campus in Qixing District, and its schools cover tourism management, hospitality management, business, foreign languages and arts and design. Reflecting its specialized mission, it is strongest in tourism management, hotel management, culinary and nutrition, and tourism-oriented foreign languages, and it plays a role in the China-ASEAN tourism education community. Set in one of China's premier scenic destinations, the university admits international students and provides Chinese-language study for learners in China.
