Yuncheng Vocational and Technical University is a private university in Yuncheng, in the far south of Shanxi province near the Yellow River bend where Shanxi, Shaanxi and Henan meet. It was founded in 2006, upgraded to bachelor's-level vocational status in 2019 as one of the first batch of such institutions approved nationally, and adopted its present name in 2020. Being in that first batch places it among a small group chosen to prove that applied technical education could sustain a degree pathway of its own, a status that carries real weight in Chinese vocational education even though the school is privately run.
