📖 About the university
City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is a public research university established in 1984 as City Polytechnic of Hong Kong and granted full university status in 1994. Its compact campus in Kowloon Tong is directly connected to the Festival Walk mall and an MTR station, placing it at the heart of the Kowloon peninsula. The university teaches in English and is organised into colleges and schools covering business, science, engineering, liberal arts and social sciences, data science, energy and environment, creative media, law, and veterinary medicine and life sciences. CityUHK ranks 63rd in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and is recognised for materials science, data science, business, engineering, and its Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences, the only accredited veterinary school in Hong Kong. It has invested heavily in research and internationalisation, maintaining exchange links with hundreds of partner institutions worldwide. With a diverse student body and a strongly applied, industry-connected outlook, CityUHK suits students seeking a modern, professionally oriented education in central Kowloon.

🌆 About Hong Kong
Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region on the southern coast of China and one of the world's leading financial, trading, and logistics hubs, where Cantonese Chinese culture blends seamlessly with a British-influenced international outlook. Built around one of the finest deep-water harbours in the world, the territory packs a dramatic skyline of skyscrapers against steep green mountains and outlying islands, with Victoria Harbour at its heart. Its climate is humid subtropical, bringing hot, humid summers with occasional typhoons and mild, dry winters. English and Chinese are both official languages, and the city is famous for its efficient MTR metro, double-decker trams and buses, and Hong Kong International Airport, one of the busiest in the world. Everyday life mixes Michelin-starred dining and dim sum teahouses with street markets, temples, hiking trails, and beaches, all within easy reach. For an international student, Hong Kong offers a concentration of world-ranked universities, a genuinely global environment, and easy travel across Asia, though living costs and rents are among the highest in the region.
