📖 About the university

Beijing Sport University (BSU), founded in 1953 as the Central Institute of Physical Education, is China's foremost university for sport and the country's flagship institution for training elite athletes, coaches and sports scientists. Affiliated with the General Administration of Sport of China, it was named a national key university as early as 1960 and is today a “211 Project” and “Double First-Class” university. Its main campus in Haidian, Beijing, spans nearly 80 hectares and holds close to a hundred indoor and outdoor training venues, including facilities used to prepare China's Olympic teams. The university leads the nation in sport science, physical education, athletic training, and sports medicine and rehabilitation. Many of China's Olympic champions and national coaches have studied or trained here, making BSU synonymous with high-performance sport in China.
