Opened 26 December 2014 with the Lanzhou–Urumqi high-speed railway; a third-class passenger station managed by China Railway Urumqi Group. Note: the older conventional-line Shanshan Station (open since 1960) now handles freight only — this Shanshan North station is the one serving passengers.
