Located just north of the city centre. Directly served by metro lines 1, 3 and 4 from inside the station. Taxis and night buses available.

The historic central station (“New Station”), running a mix of high-speed and long-distance conventional trains. Many restaurants and shops nearby, with several Lanzhou halal noodle houses around the south square.
🔄 Getting from the station to the airport
Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA) is reached from Shanghai Railway Station by Metro Line 3 or 4 to Zhongshan Park, then Line 2 to the airport, about 40-50 minutes for ¥4-5; there is no direct free link.
Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) sits far to the east: take Metro Line 1 to People's Square and transfer to Line 2 to Pudong, about 90-100 minutes for ¥8, or Airport Bus Line 4 in about 80 minutes for ¥27. A taxi takes 50-70 minutes for ¥150-200.
