Opened 25 June 2021 as the terminus of the Lhasa–Nyingchi railway, Tibet's first electrified line. The 435 km route is designed for 160 km/h and Fuxing EMUs cover it from Lhasa in about 3.5 hours; the line crests above 5,100 m, a world record for electrified railways.
