To & from the city centre

Small station; no direct metro (Line 11 Nanxiang station is nearby, bus/taxi link). Line 11 into the centre

💡
Traveller notes

Small station (2 platforms, 4 tracks) with a few intercity trains, opened 2010 and expanded as a bus interchange. Handy for the old Nanxiang town (famous for xiaolongbao).

🔄 Getting from the station to the airport

Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA), about 25 km: from Nanxiang North Railway Station walk or take a short taxi to nearby Nanxiang Station on Metro Line 11, ride Line 11 to Jiangsu Road, then change to Line 2 toward Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2. The whole trip takes about 70-80 minutes and costs around 6 yuan by metro. A taxi is faster at about 35-45 minutes but costs 90-120 yuan.
Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), about 60 km: the cheapest route is Metro Line 11 to Line 2 running all the way east across the city to Pudong Airport, roughly 2 hours for about 9 yuan. For a faster option, ride to Hongqiao first and change to the Airport Link Line, which reaches Pudong in about 40 minutes. A taxi takes 60-80 minutes and costs 180-230 yuan. There is no free transfer; the metro is the low-cost choice.
