Opened on 28 November 2023 with the Qingbaijiang East–Zhenjiangguan section of the Chengdu–Xining (Chuanqing) Railway, Mianzhu South has 2 platforms and 5 tracks and puts Mianzhu about 18 minutes from Chengdu East by train. Its facade design draws on Mianzhu's famous New Year woodblock prints (nianhua) and its baijiu liquor-making tradition, with wine-cup-shaped wings on the station building.
