Construction began in July 2010 and the station opened on 1 July 2013 with the Nanjing–Hangzhou high-speed railway; it is a Class 2 station under China Railway Shanghai Group. The station's calligraphy name was taken from a handwritten inscription by Marshal Chen Yi.
