Karamay has no metro. Taxis and city buses connect the station with the oil-city centre, about 5-6 km away.

Traveller notes

Opened in October 2011 and electrified in 2019, the station now hosts nonstop Fuxing EMU services that link Karamay with Ürümqi in about 2 hours 33 minutes. A branch line to Tacheng, near the Kazakhstan border, opened in 2019. Karamay grew up around China's first major oilfield, discovered in the 1950s.
