Built in 1998 and opened to passenger traffic in 2004, the station was first named 'Haian County Station' before being renamed 'Haian Station' on 20 August 2018. Four railway lines converge here, and it is the largest second-class marshalling station in eastern Jiangsu, with five platforms and 37 tracks in total (five platforms and 11 tracks dedicated to passenger service).
