Gongyi has no metro. City buses and taxis link the station with downtown, and it also serves as a convenient starting point for visiting Mount Song and the neighbouring Dengfeng area.

Traveller notes
Opened on 6 February 2010 on the Zhengzhou–Xi'an high-speed railway, it was among the first HSR stations in Henan. It serves not only Gongyi but also neighbouring Yanshi, Wen County, and Dengfeng (about 20 km from Mount Song). The older 1908 Gongyi Station on the Longhai line still stands in town but now handles far fewer trains.
