Weining has no metro. Taxis and local buses connect the station to the county seat and the nearby Caohai Nature Reserve wetland, famous for migratory black-necked cranes (about 10-15 minutes).

Traveller notes
Originally opened as Weining Station in July 2002 on the Neikun railway, it was renamed Caohai Station in January 2004 to avoid confusion with a Weining Station in Liaoning province. It is a second-class passenger and freight station named after the adjacent Caohai wetland.
