📜 About & history

Xuanhuagang Gongbei, also called Beishan Gongbei, is one of the principal centres of the Jahriyya (Zheherenye) Sufi order in China. It grew after the seventh-generation Jahriyya master Ma Yuanzhang came here in 1875, and over three generations and some seventy years an extensive shrine complex of about 47 mu took shape in a Yunnan-garden style set against the hills. Destroyed during the 1958 religious reforms and the Cultural Revolution, it was reopened and rebuilt from 1985.
