The Xiyuan Grand Mosque is one of Guyuan's active urban congregational mosques, located on Minzu (Ethnic) Street in Yuanzhou District. It anchors a Hui residential neighbourhood in a city where the Hui form a large share of the population. Like other Guyuan坊寺 it hosts daily worship, Friday prayers and the two Eid festivals for its坊 (parish) community. The surrounding Minzu Street area is a hub of Hui life and halal commerce.
