📜 About & history
The exact founding date of Xiaopiyuan Mosque is unknown, but stele records show it already existed in the Yuan Huangqing era (1312–1313), making it one of Xi'an's oldest mosques. The Ming court granted it a name plaque in 1375 (Hongwu 8), and it was rebuilt in 1614 (Wanli 42). It is a four-courtyard complex whose gate faces north with a single-eaved gable-hip roof. The rear courtyard holds the tombs of Song–Yuan era missionary elders (shaykhs) who once lived in Chang'an.

Buses to Qiaozikou (桥梓口); walk north via Beiguangji Street to Xiaopiyuan Alley.
Inside the Muslim Quarter itself — a short walk within the 回坊, just north of Dapiyuan.
From the Bell Tower walk northwest into the Muslim Quarter; Xiaopiyuan Alley runs between Maixian Street and Beiguangji Street, about a 15-minute walk.
