📜 About & history

Wunan Grand Mosque, in the southeastern suburbs of Litong District, is one of the largest mosques in Ningxia. It was founded in 1778 during the Qing dynasty and has several centuries of history. The mosque was rebuilt in 1979 and comprehensively rebuilt again in 2009, and today serves a congregation of more than 5,000. The complex covers about 30 mu and includes prayer halls, a moon-gazing tower, stone pavilions, ablution facilities, and imam's and guest quarters.
