Shuhe Mosque was founded in the Ming Jiajing era (1522-1566) in Shuhe, a Han River trading town once nicknamed 'Little Hankou'. It was the guild hall of the Hui merchant community (the 'Hui gang'), one of several guild temples alongside the Huangzhou Hall and Yangsi Temple. Built into the cliff on the hillside, its decoration blends Islamic features with strongly southern-Chinese architecture.

No Arab trader quarter; this is a historic riverine trading-town mosque now within a scenic ancient town.
No metro. Shuhe is about 53 km east of Xunyang city and roughly 90 km from Ankang. Reach it by expressway/road; the mosque sits on the hillside in the old town centre, a short walk from the riverfront guild halls.
