📜 About & history
The Shaanxi Grand Mosque was founded in 1941 by Bao Ziming Hajji, a Muslim from Shaanxi province, originally on East Donggang Road and expanded in 1945. It served the community of Shaanxi-origin Hui Muslims living in Lanzhou. The mosque was destroyed in 1958 during the anti-feudal-privilege campaign. After religious policy was restored, the government rebuilt it to a design by the Gansu Provincial Architectural Survey and Design Institute, with construction beginning in July 1989 and completed by the end of that year.

Five daily prayers and Friday Jumu'ah (midday) are held; ablution facilities are on site. Dress modestly (cover shoulders and knees; women cover the head), remove shoes before entering, and keep quiet during worship.

🚇 How to reach the mosque
Take a city bus to the Beiyuan / Guangwumen (北园／广武门) area in northeast Chengguan District and walk to Beiyuan Street; ask locals for the Shaanxi Mosque.
From the Xiguan/Nanguan Hui quarter it is a 10–15 minute taxi ride northeast to the Beiyuan district.
About 2–3 km northeast of Dongfanghong Square; roughly 10–15 minutes by taxi. Metro Line 1 does not reach this area, so a taxi or bus is easiest.
