As Hangzhou's Muslim population grew, the historic Phoenix Mosque became too small, so a large new mosque was built on the east side of the Grand Canal. Construction began in 2012 and it opened in May 2017, with about 16,998 square metres of floor space over five above-ground floors and one basement level.

Five daily prayers and large Friday Jumu'ah gatherings; sermons in Chinese with an international congregation. Modern ablution and function facilities.

City buses to Yunhe East Road / Tanhua'an Road along the Grand Canal.
Convenient for Muslim traders and students in eastern Hangzhou; the historic Phoenix Mosque is in the Zhongshan Road commercial centre.

Complements the historic Phoenix Mosque; the newer, largest mosque in Hangzhou. Halal restaurant and shop associated. Chinese and Arabic (Qur'anic) understood.
