This new grand mosque continues the lineage of Chongqing's historic mosque, originally built on the Shibati slope in 1479 during the Ming dynasty. In 2014, with support from the Chongqing government and the China Islamic Association, the congregation began relocating and rebuilding beside the Hui cemetery at Huangniao in Erlang, Jiulongpo District. The completed complex covers more than 40 mu and blends Arabic Islamic and Chinese Hui styles, with four 68-metre minarets and a main prayer hall seating about 2,000 worshippers plus a dedicated women's hall. Billed as the most modern mosque in southwest China, it opened in autumn 2020.

Five daily prayers are held; the Friday Jumuah prayer at midday fills the large hall, and a separate women's hall is provided.

- Line 1 Erlang （二郎）
In the Erlang area of Jiulongpo District on Chuangye Avenue; nearest metro is Erlang on Line 1, then a short taxi/DiDi, or take local buses along Chuangye Avenue.
A large modern mosque with a women's hall and halal (清真) food, well suited to visitors; modest dress required.
About a 20-30 minute drive west of central Yuzhong toward Jiulongpo Erlang; metro Line 1 to Erlang then a short taxi is convenient.
