📜 About & history
Cangzhou North Great Mosque was founded around 1420 in the early Ming dynasty and is often counted among China's major historic mosques. It covers about 8,000 square metres with a total built area of roughly 3,200 square metres, of which the main prayer hall occupies some 1,350 square metres. The mosque is closely tied to Chinese Islamic scholarship, being remembered as a place linked to early Chinese translation work on the Qur'an. It remains the principal mosque of Cangzhou's Hui Muslim community in the old city.

🚇 How to reach the mosque
Take city bus routes 3, 22, 307, 430 or Te 7 (特7) and alight at Qingzhensi (Mosque) stop.
In central Cangzhou, ask for Jiefang East Road; the North Great Mosque is an active, welcoming mosque with halal restaurants in the surrounding Hui quarter.
The mosque sits on Jiefang East Road in the old core of Xinhua District, an easy taxi or short bus ride from Cangzhou railway station and the city centre.
