The North Grand Mosque (Beida Si) is one of the three most famous mosques in urban Wuzhong, alongside the South and Central Grand Mosques. Like its counterparts it faces east and combines a bright Arab-style idiom with the symmetry and gravity of traditional Chinese architecture, comprising a main prayer hall, minaret (bangke) tower and ablution rooms. Wuzhong's Litong District is one of the most heavily Hui-Muslim urban areas in China.

Numerous Wuzhong city buses serve Litong District's central streets near the mosque.
Wuzhong itself is a major Hui trading city; the mosque is central and easily reached from the main commercial streets.
In central Litong District within Wuzhong's urban core; a short taxi or bus ride from anywhere in the city.
Wuzhong is famous for halal food; the streets around the mosque have abundant beef-noodle, lamb and pastry shops. Chinese is spoken.
