Yiwu

Yiwu is a county-level city in central Zhejiang province, administered under Jinhua prefecture, and home to the world's largest wholesale market for small commodities — the Yiwu International Trade City (Futian Market, 义乌国际商贸城). Its five districts hold over 75,000 shops on Chouzhou North Road selling toys, jewellery, hardware, stationery, electronics and about 80% of the world's Christmas ornaments, exported to more than 230 countries and regions; the nearby Huangyuan and Binwang markets cover garments and daily goods. Yiwu hosts one of China's largest foreign-merchant communities, including thousands of Arab and Muslim traders, so the city has bilingual Arabic street signage, many halal (清真) restaurants, an 'Exotic Street' of Middle-Eastern eateries, and a large mosque. Getting around: the city is served by Yiwu Airport (YIW) about 8 km from downtown, Yiwu Railway Station on the Shanghai–Kunming and Hangzhou–Changsha high-speed lines, the Jinhua–Yiwu–Dongyang (Jinyidong) rail-transit tram, and an extensive city bus network; the Yiwu–Madrid 'Yixin'ou' freight train, one of the world's longest rail-freight routes, carries Yiwu goods overland to Europe.
