The 'Three Confucian Sites' complex in the hometown of the philosopher Confucius, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. It comprises the Temple of Confucius, first built in 478 BC with more than 100 buildings including the grand Dacheng Hall; the Cemetery of Confucius, holding his tomb and the remains of over 100,000 of his descendants; and the vast aristocratic Kong Family Mansion.
