In Barkol County of Hami; reached by taxi and airport buses. No metro. Xinjiang local timekeeping runs about two hours behind Beijing time, but tickets use Beijing time.

A high-elevation feeder airport opened on 15 July 2025 in Barkol Kazakh Autonomous County of Hami City in eastern Xinjiang, among the region's high-plateau airports. Its designed capacity is about 300,000 passengers and 700 tonnes of cargo a year, with roughly ¥692 million invested. Halal food is available.
